on my 1st rewatch of "the double" and it just clicked how at the end of ep. 5 when xh says "no one has ever called me brainless before, how will we settle that score?" and xff says "you can call me names too" that as she's walking away, the "name" he decides to retaliate with is "xue fangfei"............

Welcome to To Daydream Believers : A Community Klaine FanWorks Blog
Hello Everyone!
Tumblr media
Welcome and Re-Welcome to To Daydream Believers!!
I know the blog has been around forever, but with the influx of new people I thought I'd refresh the blog and welcome everyone again! I've been wanting to give the blog a facelift for a while, and it seems now is as good a time as any to reintroduce and reinvigorate the blog.
What is TDBFic?
I originally started the blog as the fanfiction reblogging sideblog to my original Glee/Klaine rewatch, fun&games, and podcasting blog - @todaydreambelievers. TDB isn't being run any more, but I've always maintained that as long as there is interest - I'd keep the blog going.
The intention of the blog was to be a safe space where fans of Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson could read works (about them individually or as a couple) without fear of running into bashing of either character. It was also meant to be a community blog where anyone could choose to participate on their own terms.
Becoming a Member -
Whether you're an author who would like a place to showcase their works or just a fan who'd like to recommend their favorite fics, anyone is allowed to be a member. All you need to do is shoot me -- @spaceorphan18 -- a message, and I'll make you a member. All I ask is that you follow (my relatively few) guidelines.
Also - even if you become a member, there's no obligation to reblog content, but the option is always open!
Guidelines -
So what are the guidelines?
All fanworks must be Kurt Hummel friendly and Blaine Anderson friendly. While that doesn't mean bad things can't happen to them - it does mean that a fan of either character can read a work and not feel like their favorite character is being intentionally bashed.
Be respectful of other users.
A couple of smaller items such as - please reblog, don't post and don't spam. Some basic common curtesy things.
That's really it. I'll have some more details on a main page when I get that up. But really, it boils down to play nice.
What about tagging?
You don't have to tag - but it is encouraged so people can find your works if they click on one of our links. I'm working on cleaning up the tagging page so that the tagging system is clear and easy to use.
What about all the old stuff?
It's not going anywhere - though please bear with me as I try to clean up the main page. You should be able to find all of the old content, as I don't plan on taking anything down.
Anything new to the blog?
Why yes! I have some ideas for ways to keep the activity up on the blog...
Author Spotlights -- Every week we would highlight a author or artist - featuring their works on the blog. I'd like to do this again! I'll get more details out soon - but anyone is welcome to participate, even if they've done it already!
Prompts & Tropes -- I'm not sure how I'd like to implement these, but I thought it'd be fun if we occasionally did prompts or trope weeks to inspire you to create new things.
Events -- We haven't been event heavy, but @snarkyhag and I are already thinking of something fun to do for this summer!
Polls -- Okay, so this isn't entirely creation focused, but back in the day, TDB did polls every Tuesday. Now that tumblr has a fun, new polling system, I thought I'd bring these back - because why not?
Questions, Comments, Concerns?
I'm really open to anything you guys might have to say! Please drop a line any time you like -- I'm always happy to hear from you!
I do encourage you to come join and be a member! The more the merrier!
Tumblr media
Happy Creating!
Xoxo- Spaceorphan18 :)

The Newdie Awards!!
So, now that TDB is winding down - and in honor of the final podcast, I decided to hand out a few awards for all the people who’ve helped me along the way.  It’s a lot like The Office’s Dundie Awards! (only nicer).
First of all, though, I want to shout a huge thank you to all the people who’ve donated so far to the TDB Pool - to keep the podcast hosted for years to come, so new people can listen, even if we’re not producing new content.  I’m amazed at how much we’ve raised so far.  Thank you so, so much for all your contributions!
Secondly, a shout out to @seeroftodayandtomorrow - who diligently watched the show every week with me for the last two years.  That’s quite the feat and shouldn’t be discounted.  You guys try doing anything for two years straight! <3
Thirdly, not sure how many of you realize this but @nikkisrandomthingsfan has been modding @todaydreambelieversfic for years now, and does an amazing job of it.  I can’t thank her enough for taking that over for me - and agreeing to continue to watch over the fic blog even after the main TDB blog ends.  In addition - to all the writers, including those who did the Author Spotlights with us back in the day, and to all the artists and creators out there - I hope you keep on doing your thing.  We’re blessed to have such creative talent in the fandom.  Thank you, thank you <3
The Newdies!!
The Matt Rutherford: Not Here but Not Forgotten Award goes to...
Tumblr media
All of my lovely guests who weren’t here in the finale.  I’ve had the pleasure of discussing the show with so many wonderful people - and I’m grateful to all the people who took the time to be on the podcast an share your thoughts.  Thank you for being such wonderful guests <3
The Blaine Anderson: Biggest Stan Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@thedorkmark   There are plenty of Blaine stans around, but I haven’t met any that have surpassed Izzie’s passion and willingness to die on any hill.  And like Blaine, Izzie’s a sweetheart and a kind soul.  Thank you for bringing such joy and fire to the podcast <3 <3
The Mike Chang: All Around Awesome Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@somewhereonlyino  Like Mike, Lauren’s sometimes quiet, but always brings a fun and warm attitude to the podcast.  Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and being such a team player.  <3 <3  The Tina Cohen-Chang: Don’t Cut Me Off Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@carojane - I’ve never met a person who stans Tina harder than Carly, someone who shares Tina’s strong will and ability to push through the hard parts with sheer determination.  You’re sweet and sensitive and kind but also won’t back down from a fight.  Thank you so much for everything you’ve shared over the years <3 <3
The Sugar Motta: Sweet’n’Spicy Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@coming-up-rosie - Every time Rosie pops on to the podcast, she’s sweet’n’spicy and always knows how to liven up the conversation.  While not around a lot on the podcast, like Sugar, whenever you were on you brought joy and enthusiasm - especially lovely since I kept placing you on such random podcasts.  Thank you so much for your ability to go with the flow and have fun while doing it <3 <3
The Sam Evans: Always Lending a Helping Hand Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@klaineship2 Over the years, Carmen has been such a hard worker! She’s done the entire rewatch with me, continues diligently to keep track of fics, and has even translated my and other’s fic into another language for more people to read!! Like Sam, you’re kind and dependable, and great friend who’s always there to jump in and help out.  Thank you so much for everything you’ve done over the years <3 <3
The Adam Crawford: Cutie Across the Pond Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@perfectanomaly  The thing about Anny is that she’s always coming at me with an unexpected, but welcome, new point of view, and challenging me on how I see the characters.  Like Adam, she’s sweet and friendly (and also European!) and reminds me that these character’s don’t always have to live in the boxes we sometimes place them in.  Thank you so much for keeping me on my toes all these years, and giving me new perspectives to think about <3 <3
The Santana Lopez: Tell It Like It Is Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@honeysucklepink - Pink, you’ve been such a firecracker over the years!  Your deep love of music and glee and Darren Criss has driven your passion, and like Santana you’re never afraid to shy away from your opinions, even if they’re different from everyone else’s.  But also like Santana - you care deeply about the things and people are important to you.  Thank you for always bringing your massive knowledge of music and crackling stories to the podcast <3 <3
The Sue Sylvester: Kicking Down the Fourth Wall Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@slayediest - No one on the podcast has had an insider view of production quite like Slayediest, so it’s always fascinating to hear your stories about how things probably happened on the show.  But also, like Sue, you don’t really give a shit about all the nonsense going on around you, and think that most of the drama is ridiculous and silly (and it is!) and I really appreciate it about you.  You have a great sense of humor, and are always reminding me to sit back and enjoy the craziness in the world.  Thank you for letting me drag you on all these years, I’ve always valued your input so much <3 <3
The Marley Rose: Most Precious of Precious Muffins Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@sleepdeprivedmind - Connie, hands down, is one of the kindest, most positive, purest people I know.  I’ve never heard her say a bad word about anything, and even tries to bring a positive on some of the most negative subjects (like Will!!, lol)  Like Marley, you have such a big heart and warm soul and radiate joy whenever you come on the podcast. I’m incredibly thankful to call you my friend, thank you so much for all the great conversations we’ve had <3 <3
The Mercedes Jones: Oh Hell to the No Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@black-john-lennon - Kay was the first guest I recorded with on the show, and I’m so grateful for that first conversation, because it helped me gain the confidence that this project was something I could accomplish long term!  Kay’s never been one to back down from a fight - but doing so from a place of passion and getting to the heart of the matter.  Like Mercedes, you do have a sassy, won’t-back-down attitude, but I think you also share her vulnerability and big heart, and I don’t think that’s appreciated enough.   Thank you so much for so many fantastic conversations, and becoming someone I can call a good friend <3 <3
The Emma Pillsbury: The Gingers Always Know Best Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@redheadgleek - Oh, Julia, so calm and wise in her ways, she’ll always be there to lend a listening ear or be of service in whatever way she can be!  Like Emma - I think you’re smart and on the nose about a lot of things, but also incredibly kind and caring. And, many people may or may not know, the backbone of keeping a lot of fandom things afloat.  (She has every Klaine fic ever stored on a drive somewhere in case the apocalypse happens guys, lol <3)  Thank you for always being so sweet, and listening to me ramble on with an open mind and an open heart <3 <3
The Kurt Hummel: There Are More Than Four Sides to Me Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@kurtmckinnon - Kelley helped me redefine what a Kurt Stan could be.  Believe it or not, being a Kurt fan myself, I always shied away from the term - but Kelley’s love and passion for the character, and the show, helped me be secure in my identification of being a Kurt Stan (lol).  But more so, like Kurt, there are far more sides to you and you’ve always come to the podcast with a new perspective and a way of thinking that I might not have been privvy to.  I appreciate so much that you kept challenging how I saw the world.  Thank you so much for being such a huge, positive champion of Kurt, and always pushing me to think outside of the box <3 <3
The Finn Hudson: The Show’s Gonna Go All Over The Place Aware goes to...
Tumblr media
@notthatbea - My dearest Bethany, my goodness where do I even start.  Always there when I needed her, Bethany’s never been afraid to back away no matter what kinda crazy scheme I’ve got going on.  Like Finn, she’s sometimes bumbling along with me (in a good way!) but has a huge heart and always willing to go with it now how matter how crazy and out of control things get.  Thank you so, so much for becoming my good friend, for letting me take you on some of these insane adventures, and solidifying yourself in my heart - so much love <3 <3
The Brittany Pierce: Special Unicorn Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@slayerkitty - No one has a laugh quite like Kitty’s, and it’s a delight to hear it, even when it’s for the most randomest of things.  Like Brittany, she’s a little bit sweet, a little awkward, a little odd, and a whole lot wonderful unicorn - all of it wrapped up in such a delightful way.  I’m sorry I cancelled your contract so many times - know that I couldn’t really imagine doing the podcast without you there.  Thank you so much for your fountain of knowledge, your great sense of humor, and your deep love of all fandom things - you’re unique and wonderful in your own special way, and I appreciate that about you <3 <3
The Cooper J Anderson Emotional Tornado Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@ckerouac - I mean is anyone really surprised by this??  RB is the ultimate emotion tornado, swooping in and creating a great time like like none other.  Like Cooper - your enthusiasm never wavers, your energy is inspiring, your sense of fun is endless, and you’re always pointing me (ha) in the right direction, and I’m guessing you probably have really great hair.
Thank you for the phrase - ‘I wanna lick him nipple to navel and your vast knowledge of liquors, and the bangity-bang song, and the 2 out of 3 podcasters joke.  Thank you for jumping in on a podcast as a pinch-hitter even when you didn’t even know what the topic was.  Thank you for all the laughs and the sometimes tears and the driving me crazy but not really.  Thank you for becoming one of my greatest friends - I value your friendship deeply. Just - thank you <3 <3
And one final thought - Iron Man’s better.  He just is, RB, I mean really ;)
The Elliott Gilbert: Glitter Rock Vampire Award goes to...
Tumblr media
@snarkyhag - I’m not really sure I have words to express how I feel about the one and only Le Diva Hag.  You are the Glitter Rock Vampire of my world - always there, always helping, always being a life coach and a wonderful friend.  I can’t tell you all the things she’s done for me over the years - because if I did it’d take up another post entirely.  But know that sometimes you come to a fandom just wanting to hang out and enjoy the silly world that is your favorite story, and you walk away finding someone whose become one of your closet friends.  I have nothing but gratefulness for everything she’s brought into my life.
I love you, Snarky, you are the Elliott to my Kurt, and I promise I’m never saying good-bye to you <3 <3
and finally...
The Rachel Berry: Greatest Star Award goes to...
Tumblr media
YOU!!!
To all my listeners, and all the people who’ve contributed to TDB over the years, taking polls, giving prompts, writing stories, doing art, joining in on the conversation, or just hitting like or reblog.  This blog has been made special because you were a part of it.  To my real Daydream Believers - thank you for bring such joy to my life and others.  You all are the greatest stars <3
Congratulations!!!

4 years ago today, @spaceorphan18 created a blog for gleeks and klainers, to celebrate the show that had brought so many fans together. It initially started off as a fic prompt blog, but quickly became so much more. In the past 4 years, TDB hosted episode and song tournaments (and sighed in frustration when we voted for our favorites Every.Single.Time), polls that delighted us and frustrated us to the point of insanity, fan fiction and art recommendations which eventually moved to @todaydreambelieversfic, spotlights on authors so we got to know our favorite creators a little better, and group episode rewatches from season 1 onward. Even more impressively, SO hosted 160 podcasts, where she talked to other fans and edited all of our thoughts and giddiness and enthusiastic love for the show into 2 hour episodes of weekly meta.
In short, @todaydreambelievers has kept fandom alive and vibrant over the last four years. And the klaine/glee fandom would not be what it is today without it.
The TDB rewatch and podcast will be winding down in a few short weeks. Please help celebrate this little blessing of fandom by posting something to let TDB know how much we appreciate their time and devotion - and don’t forget to tag @todaydreambelievers so it can be seen and shared.
@snarkyhag and I have also set up a paypal donation site to help cover some of the costs of hosting the podcasts (160!!!) as well here:  https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8gzOe3yDZY

TDB Rewatch: The Rise and Fall of Sue Sylvester
So. After all this time analyzing season 6, etc, etc, I understand why this episode exists.  More than anything - they wanted to give Jane Lynch a moment to look back on her ridiculous character.  I think the main problem, however, is trying to make actual story out of the fact that she is a fourth-wall breaking cartoon character.  And.  No one really cares.  This episode is both better and and worse than Child Star.  There are some actual not bad things here.  But then lows are way, way worse.
Thoughts:
There is so much Sue, my god.  But what’s worse is that they take all the jokes they made in previous episodes and try to explain them away as ‘lies’ that Sue had told over the years.  Why even bother? Why not let the ridiculous jokes just be jokes?
I also don’t understand how they bring pretty much everything related to Sue back but not mention her sister or her child.  That whole pregnancy story line was such a waste of time in season 3.
The Geraldo segment, with the exception of the kids’ sound bites, was completely unnecessary and went on way, way too long.
Oh, also, Will’s confessional -- dear god, it reeks of self-importance.  Stop, Will.
Sue should have been fired and gone to jail.  Ug.
Bringing back Carol Burnette seemed pretty pointless -- especially when they undid all of the development from the previous episode, and they sang a completely unnecessary and not-engaging song.  Did anyone want or need the Trolley Song? Why was this a thing? When it was barely tired to Sue’s story anyway??
Also - the elongated VA sequence, which made the Trolley Song seem like quality entertainment, went on way too long, too.
I’d like to point out that the writer of this episode had never been credited before.  Why?  I mean, really.  Why??
Also, Becky.  Ug.  Why so much screaming? I really wish they would have let Becky be done with Sue and move on with her life.
The little parts that are left in this episode really aren’t that bad -- there’s just... not much here.
Rather Be and Rise are fun numbers, and I appreciate that this group (minus Spencer) can really sing.
The fact that Dalton burning down is mostly a plot point for Sue and for ND gaining twelve members is really ridiculous - but at least the Warblers trying to integrate into ND is entertaining.  The episode should have been way more about this, and the Sue stuff cut down a whole lot more.
That said - there wasn’t a whole lot of Kurt or Blaine in this episode, but at the same time, this is usually what happens in episodes post whatever big moment they had.
Rachel has a -- going back to New York -- which is really what felt truncated in this episode.  I don’t actually understand what her conflict is here, since going to school or going back on stage is not really a conflict.  I feel like they were just trying to draw out Rachel’s inevitable return to New York?
The convo with Sam is a little weird.  They’ve done nothing with this romance since ep. 7, and Rachel here is claiming Sam means something to her only to drop him completely for Jesse in the next episode.  Her conflict should have been less about school or stage and more about letting go of her hometown and Sam.
Why didn’t I write this season? Ug.
Hey, at least we get a nod to NYADA being a school for witches. ;)

Tdb rewatch: Dreams Come True
German title: Träume werden wahr, which is an exact translation.
Well, here we are! Two years gone again, one of my kids has dropped out, but so far I’ve raised part of another generation of Gleeks.
We all feared very much we would cry, but in the end, we didn’t. I have no idea why.  But this episode is a worthy conclusion of a show that was not perfect in any way, but still touched a lot of us in a way that few other shows (at least for me) have managed to do. It focuses a lot of giving everyone a happy ending, and I’m fine with that - a show that put so much emphasis on it being, indeed, possible that dreams come true deserves no less than exactly that. Maybe that happy ending doesn’t look like everyone imagined it - I, for one, have never shipped Tina and Artie and would have been happier with them dating someone else, and I very much shipped Sam and Mercedes and would have liked them to be back together with plans to get married by the very end. I also never saw Kurt and Blaine - or well, Kurt - as a children’s person, and by that I don’t even mean them having their own child, but more the Daydream Believers performance in an elementary school. But. We can see that the characters are happy with how everything turned out, and because they are, I think we are too. At least I am.
I mean it’s nice for them to go full circle with McKinley becoming a performing arts school with Will as a principal (he will have less direct contact with the students, which can only be good). But they will have to have subjects like maths and languages nevertheless, right? Right?
When they introduced Sam as the new Glee coach, I couldn’t help but imagine Finn in his place. He would have fit better, I think. But I’m glad Rachel ends up married to Jesse and winning a Tony instead of “coming home” and giving up her career to be with Finn.
I’m glad Rachel is Klaine’s surrogate because I like the idea of all of them staying connected somehow, Not as close as before, certainly, but still friends, and Klaine’s kids looking forward to “Auntie Rachel’s” visits because she brings lots of presents or whatever. But I hope she’ll end up okay with that, not regretting it like Shelby.
I hate Kurt’s hair in five years later.
I miss Brittana, and Quinn. I’m glad we get to see nearly everyone during “I lived”, but I would have liked to see what became of them.
The music is perfect. The only song I don’t particularly care for is, no surprise, the Will song.
I’m a little sad this is over now, and glad for the Glee pot luck big bang just so I know that this fandom is not dead, and there are still people there. As for me, my kids have planned a favorite episode rewatch and then probably a full rewatch and who knows what, so I couldn’t stop watching even if I wanted to. But I want to thank @todaydreambelievers and @spaceorphan18 for everything. It was great.

I am not a woman of my word, I tell ya what
So I started watching s6 after all. Well, parts of it...
Anyway I thought I’d just post my thoughts like I normally do for the rewatches. Although there are not many thoughts at all.
When I started watching, I was like wow. It’s good to not really feel invested in this at all because s6 is so pointless and also didn’t happen. But then Darren’s acting in That Scene blew me away, and Kurt’s breakdown in the bathroom- tears. Well not tears but something. ...A little something.
I’m sure someone’s already made this meta connection but Kurt telling Rachel about how he was the only one who showed up to their spot reminded me of s3 when Kurt’s the one who convinces Blaine to go to glee practice and they meet up with Artcedes and everyone comes in after that and they’re all together.
But also Artie is just... in film school, still. So he’s there. Ah well guess he didn’t feel like going out in the rain
At one point Sue refers to Kurt as “Middlesex” which is, surprise, another jab at his gender presentation and sexuality. Oh and she says he smells like a nursing home. Just a fun little taste of the oh so hilarious insults to come :)
Although even Jane sounded tired of what she was saying. Her voice was just so calm and chill. Not the usual crazy rage of a Sue insult tornado
Let It Go is actually a really good song for Rachel to sing at this point in her life. It’s very fitting. I mean I left the episode playing while I went to the bathroom, but it sounded really good from down the hall.
Wow that’s it for Loser Like Me. Moving on!
Yay Jane and Roderick are finally here. Happy days are here agaaain
I love Mercedes’s verbal smack down of the Tea Party people. And Tina’s one line outburst. But the funniest part is still Sam running into Quinn and her laughing like that. Unscripted moments > scripted moments on this show any day
Speaking of which. You know how someone edited the cartoon Hunchback of Notre Dame movie to completely remove the gargoyles to make it less wAcKy? Anyway someone make an edit like that for Glee where you just take out all Brittany lines
Anyway more importantly, Unholy Trinity hot. Me gay
All of the songs in this one are so fun, and I love the new characters, and the fact that Kitty is back. Am I actually warming up to s6?? Weird...
I love when Blaine gets angry. I mean people already demonize him for having any emotions or feelings in the first place so he might as well be angry. No one can do anything about it
Homecoming has great new characters, amazing songs, even made me laugh a few times. Normally when I think s6, I think Santana’s awful rant, the crazy Klaine locker, Myron, Dalton fucking burning down for no reason??? But hey parts of it aren’t so bad. I’m making progress
Anyway that’s Homecoming. On to Jagged Little Tapestry
Klaine duet. Not my one of my favorites but it’s still Klaine so... one of my favorites. I love how soft Kurt looks in the flashback. Little Dalton bbs
I love how you can tell that some of those pictures on Blaine’s phone are Chris and not Kurt. Probably some bts pics, which I love, because one of my pet peeves is when they use promo pics/stills for actual photos lol
“We all left glee club with a better understanding and appreciation of all kinds of music” me @ everyone about Glee
Okay I highkey hate Becky but the “Shut up I know!” delivery to Tina made me laugh
Oh great, more scissoring jokes. That’s totally what I was missing
They even say “I would hate us if I didn’t know us” well yep. I hate them. But I do know them lol. Ah well. Their duet mash up is probably one of my most played Glee songs. So there’s that
Santana proposes in the choir room and says it’s going to make all the single people upset lmao. Also she loves Brittany because they... don’t improve one another. Yeah it shows. God I fucking hate Brittana sorry not sorry
God Santana literally reads as psychotic here. Kurt barely even said anything bad and she looks like the fucking Kill Bill sirens are going off ffs. I reeeally hate her this episode oh my god. It makes me hate all of s6
Also can we please stop pretending like Brittany is a math genius. I’m over it. I’m tired. I’m tired of Brittany full stop. She’s the worst
Tv writers have a straight guy and girl know each other for one minute and like make eye contact and expect viewers to be falling over themselves invested in this couple (Finchel) and I’m like ...yawn. But also Jane and Mason have one duet together and I’m like 💖💜💕💞💝🥰💖💜💕💞💝🥰💖
“I think because we’re so close” Rachel shut up I’m still not buying it
“Did they really say that? That I helped them?” God Kurt I love you. You help everyone
“This isn’t about who I want to go to bed with. It’s about who I want to go to bed as” al;fklsdafjds nice line. I’m also making my peace with Coach Beiste being trans. They actually did a good job I think? The storyline just started and the rest I haven’t watched in 4 years so idk
Sooo all in all of 6x01 I watched maybe... 15 minutes of it. Basically any scene with Kurt or Blaine in it (except them watching Rachel’s pilot, or the Warblers number) and also watched the Sam/Rachel stuff. Everything else? Fast the hell forward.
6x02 I watched almost all of. Just skipped some Sue stuff.
I was ready to only skip through That Scene in 6x03 but I remembered all that Becky crap so I skipped most of that. Probably ended up watching about half an hour all together, so the majority of the episode. I consider that a win.
Overall, Homecoming is the only one I actually really loved. Gotta move it waaay up on my Glee ranking list lol

TDB Rewatch: Dreams Come True
So... this is it! Two years of watching this show every Sunday night and now... that is done.  (I mean, there’s going to be an encore, but you know.)  And.. I feel like I should be more emotional than I am?  When I finished the meta, I kinda broke down and cried cause this huge project was over.  But with this... I’m okay.  I’m okay to be done.  I’m okay to put this story away for a while.
And I think the thing I keep coming back to is how, this episode wraps up everything as it should, and maybe goes a little overboard on giving everyone the super happy ending, but that’s completely to be expected with this show.  But at the same time, I think this show has been saying goodbye in a lot of ways over the years, so when the actual ending is here it’s like... yup, that’s that.
As for actual endings, while maybe I wished for the scenes themselves to be a tad stronger in certain respects, I think it says goodbye to the right people, and let’s the characters end on the happy notes they should all get.  I feel content with where the story ends.
Thoughts:
I didn’t need to see a win at Nationals, it’s fine though - everything about this episode is about over the top happy endings.  Jane and Mason though. :)
Let’s not get me started on the ridiculousness that is McKinley turning into a magnet school that gets rid of the core curriculum.  For the last time I’ll say - that’s not how that works, Glee...
I don’t buy Will as a good principal, but it’s fine.  He’s where he’s supposed to be.
Emma has four kids in five years.  **sigh** I’m sorry she was always such a prop to Will’s story.
Hey! Something I noticed for the first time tonight - Will’s scene with Danny is in the old craft room of Terri’s that they were going to take care of their baby in.  Nice touch, Glee.
The Will and Sue duet was perfect and underappreciated by me way back when.
I don’t care about the Becky and Sue reunion as much as the show wants me to care about it.  It’s sweet though.
Man... how I wish Sue was the actual VP.
Sam gets Finn’s original ending.  I still think it works for him.  The country week is a nice touch.
I love the Blam scene.  I’m glad that Blaine got a moment to reflect, and say how much marriage agrees with him (and Kurt).
As a side thought from that - Hummelberry’s two scenes were cut, and while I found that odd for a while, I realize that they didn’t necessarily need a goodbye scene - cause their lives are (for better or worse) still really intertwined.
(FYI - for all you Samcedes fans, in the original script, he mentions that he’s going to call Mercedes to get back together)
Btw - Beiste has all his scenes cut, which is sad unless you’ve read the script, and it’s really for the better.  The only character, though, who I thought got really shafted.
Everything about Mercedes’s ending was perfect.  I have no other comments.
Rachel singing This Time alone was really quite fitting, too.  I really adore that song.
Look - I’m not going to lie, I do wish the Klaine moments were a little stronger.  But -- I’m glad they got one final moment to be happy with each other, and I’m glad their last lines to each other were ‘I love you’ and ‘I love you too’.
I also 100% believe them as dads, tbh.  The show has been setting up this ending for a long while.
I do wish they would have sang Daydream Believer to their own kid, but I understand why it is the way it is.
Poor Artie and Tina - background players until the end.  While I don’t really buy them getting back together, I do get Kevin and Jenna wanting to go out at the end with each other.
St. Berry > Finchel.  Sorry.
Rachel was always going to win that Tony.
Something is special because you’re a part of it.
I think the episode wraps up just as it should.
I love everyone coming back.  Also Max Adler in the role of Marley Rose.  Lol
I Lived is the perfect ending for this show.
And that’s a wrap
Well.  Another project done.  Thank you all for following me on this crazy journey.  Much love to you all <3

Tdb rewatch: The Rise and Fall of Sue Sylvester
#German title: Aufstieg und Fall von Sue Sylvester. It’s a literal translation, but I wanted it to be Aufstieg und Fall der Sue Sylvester, which would be very old-fashioned but also reminiscent of the Brecht play Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagony, which I have always assumed was what the title was based on.
anyway, even a good title can’t change anything about the fact that this is a really, really bad episode. And I don’t mean in the sense of last week’s, that it’s just not the thing we want to see so close to the end, even though that certainly plays into it. But this is, in my opinion, right there with Pot o’Gold and The Spanish Teacher and (for me) Feud. There is very little redeeming or even interesting about this. And I don’t even mind Sue as a character most of the time. There are a few funny/good moments, though - While I’m not a big fan of Final Countdown, the faces of the kids while they watch Sue and Will battle it out on stage are hilarious. I kinda like Becky is the one who “betrays” Sue - though I  would have liked it to have more of a buildup, not just, You won’t let the Warblers join the Glee club, that’s the last straw. I like Jane being passive-aggressive towards the Warblers, and of course I like Rise. Rise might be the only really good thing to come out of this episode.
But the rest? I’m only going to mention one thing because I think I’m kind of in denial about the rest, but: Sue’s mom going on national TV, saying that she never loved her, that she lived her whole life as an elaborate hoax just so she wouldn’t have to be near her, and then they talk and she says of course she loved her, she just couldn’t show it, and Sue says, okay, let’s sing the world’s worst song and then we’ll be friends? From my perspective, what Sue’s mother did was kind of the ultimate betrayal and in Sue’s place, I would never have wanted to see her again. But I mean, all of that was to get I forgot her name sing again, and the story surrounding it wasn’t that important. But I hate it. Very much.
